My dad says the valedictorian of his high school (class of 1990) went to Cornell.
I just found out that last year’s Val went to Harvard ,and so did the Sal.
School didn’t officially name Val/Sal (decile rankings only), but the kids who were closest ended up at Berkeley (4), USC (1, full scholarship), Harvard (1, athletic recruit), and MIT (6 or 7, no guys).

I’m a junior now, but when I was a sophomore (my brother was graduating) our Val was accepted to Stanford but he chose UVA (probably for monetary reasons) and our Sal went to Georgetown. I’m a VA resident btw
Our school doesn’t recognize valedictorians/salutatorians, but a friend of mine who was a speaker at graduation (chosen from students with 3.9+ GPA) is at UW-La Crosse.

Val: Richmond (got into JHU, but Richmond gave more $)

Val (me!): William & Mary (was very close to going to USC but, as always, $$$$$… also on the waitlist for Penn)
Sal: VCU pre-med (actually not a bad program, and she got a nice scholarship)
I live in VA and go to a school that qualifies for Title I btw lol, we don’t tend to send lots of kids to Ivies and other top 20s
