Near their home? Near the college? Or any random places?

I am searching near my parents house, since that is where I want to live-- I need to live at my parents for a few months to save up some money before I can strike out on my own legitimately, so I intend to do that and then get an apartment in the area after I buy a car and have some money for furniture. I think some of this depends on the region. I go to college in Michigan and I know very few who would prefer to restrict themselves to this job market, it’s really bad here. If this were a better area for employment I imagine more people would be looking to stay near the school or go back to their Michigan hometowns.

Most people from my school seem to end up somewhere around DC, NYC, or ATL. When I was looking for a job, I didn’t care about location. I decided to go where I got the best offer.

To more directly answer your question: I think generally a large city within a few hundred miles of your school.
