can someone please tell me?

Well… I figured it out but I’d like some advice from you guys as well. Is it reasonable to take Econ 100a and Econ 1 next semester? I thought the prereq to apply for the Econ major was just Econ 1, but I was mistaken and Econ 100a was also required…

The pre-reqs for the Econ major are Econ 1 AND either Econ 100A or 100B. I wouldn’t recommend taking Econ 1 and Econ 100A in the same semester. I don’t think L&S or the Econ dept. would either. Depends on your experience with Econ.

Hmm… Let’s say I take Economics 1 next semester and apply for the major next Fall during my junior year. While I’m in my Fall semester I can take Economics 100A and other major requirements, correct? So would this be a way for me to graduate on time?

The reason I’m not taking Econ 100A next semester and Econ 1 over the summer at a community college is because Econ 1 is required to apply for Haas so it really messes everything up.

Yeah that would work. Finish your math next semester if you need to because 16B is pretty much needed for 100A (partial derivatives). Take Econ 100A and Stats next fall and you’ll be set to apply.

You have to have taken 100a or 100b already in order to declare econ. I don’t see how declaring late will affect your ability to graduate on time though.

Can’t you declare Econ while taking econ 100a or 100b? I’m a sophomore right now, and I want to apply at the beginning of next fall. But I won’t be accepted into the major until halfway through, correct? So can’t I take Econ 100a and some upper division required Econ courses in the mean time?

I’ve already taken calc 2 and I’m taking stats right now. I’m going to finish off my breadth, R&C requirement, Econ 1, and lit requirement for haas next semester.

Yes you can apply next fall while taking 100a.

That means I only have to take 6 courses and I’m done with the major, is it reasonable to begin a double major your junior year? Or at least a minor?

wait, you’re a sophomore? i thought you were a freshman ankur.
