I was hoping someone who took these classes could provide their insight. Econ 100B doesn't list 100A as a prerequisite. Is 100A required for successfully taking 100B? Or do the alphabetical orderings of the names meaningless?

I'd like to take 100A first, but the class starts at 8am in the fall! Econ 100B has a far more favorable starting time, and I will take that instead if i can do so safely without 100A under my belt.

Is it possible that I take skip Econ 1 and take 100B directly?
I wanna minor in econ but the only lecture conflicts with one of my major course.

If you want to be a business major at Haas then you can skip Econ 1 only if you have 5s on both AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics.

If you just want to do Economics and not want to do business then you can skip Econ 1 if you have a 4 or 5 on both AP Micro and AP Macro.

Basically if you don't have double 5s in both AP Econs then take Econ 1 because skipping to 100A-B will make you take a remedial Econ 1 if you later decide to apply to the business major.

This being your first semester, I suggest taking ECON 1, just to get used to the lectures in Wheeler first, I mean, theres no rush to get into the upperdivs, because you might not like econ after all, so take ECON1, because it leaves you many roads in the future, if you decide to switch up. Im not sure whos teaching ECON1 now, but it all depends on whos your GSI, if you get a messed up GSI, then I suggest you study your a$$ off!
