Possible to take Econ 100/Math 53 during first sem? Also, Stat 20 or 21?

Yeah, so I'm doing my AO now and I want to take 2 of my major prereqs during the first semester. Currently I'm planning to do Stat 20/21, not sure which is better or are they pretty similar, opinions? :)
If it helps: STAT 20 is taught by El Karoui and Nolan this Fall. STAT 21 is taught by Ibser and Yu.

Also, is it possible to take Econ 100A/B in the first semester? I've satisfied all the prereqs but I heard it can only be taken in your second sem. Laaastly, Math 53! Does anyone know whether it's possible to enroll in it w/o taking Math 1B? Thanks. :)

I was informed by the Econ Counselor that first semester freshman cannot take the Econ 100/101 series

Telebears restricts enrollment to sophomores and above. But if you are coming in with enough AP credits to have sophomore standing, you could sign up for the Econ 100 series. Unfortunately Econ 101A is already full, so you couldn’t take that even if you were allowed.

As a side note, you can safely ignore prerequisites in many cases. The only reality that matters is what Telebears tells you.

I think you have to have a 5 on the Calc BC exam to enroll in 53 first semester. I’m not sure if this is an enforced rule or if it’s just a warning. If you want to be an econ major, I suggest skipping 1B if you can. It’s a pain and you’ll never use most of the stuff you learn again.

I might be doing a double major in stats so I’ll need the 1B, but I really want to save it until next semester! So I really wanted to take an econ class, but it seems like I can’t, damn! Thanks guys.

Calc 1, 2, and 3 have to be taken in order. For obvious reasons, once you take them you’ll see.
