Where do international studnets stay during orientation?

My orientation starts on Aug 17. Where do the international students stay?

You are expected to book a hotel room (or stay in an apartment with a friend) during orientation. Too bad they don’t let you move in by then, but move in day is later. Classes start on August 31st, so I imagine move-in day is around August 25th or 26th or so, though I don’t know the date for sure.

Since this means you might need a place for a whole week, I’d look for a hotel or someone renting a place that will give you a weekly rate. Also, keep in mind that you only need to be in town for one or two nights, so also consider checking on hotels a little farther away from Bloomington if you have transportation. For example, staying in a small town close by could save a lot of money over Bloomington–plus Bloomington hotels are likely to all be booked the night before move-in day. If you stay out-of-town, and then drive in, you could possibly save quite a bit of money.

Last year they let students check in early to their dorms for $50/night. I am not sure, but I think they started 7 days before official move in day.

The move in date this year is August 26th.

It looks like they provide temporary housing if the dorms are not ready to move into:
Last year’s info:

If you arrive in Bloomington on or after August 1, 2008, you may arrive at any time (24 hours a day) to Eigenmann Residence Hall (1900 East 10th Street) and you will be able to receive accommodations. Information on contacting the staff at the building if the front doors are locked will be posted on the front doors.

Temporary housing costs $25 per night* and will be billed to your IU bursar account along with your tuition and fees for your first semester at Indiana University. The Fee for temporary housing will be found on your bill along with your tuition and fees for your first semester at Indiana University.

If you plan to live on-campus, you will need to sign a contract either before your arrival or within your first two nights in temporary housing. Contracts must be signed at the Assignments Office, which is located at 801 North Jordan Avenue. Office hours are 8:00am–5:00pm weekdays. After signing the contract, you will be able to stay in temporary housing at $25 per night until you move into your assigned on-campus housing.

Please Note: You will be able to move into your assigned on-campus housing for the 08–09 school year in August 2008. The date for this move is August 22, 2008. If you are living on campus in the fall, upon your check-in you will receive information regarding our complimentary move-in truck service.
