I didn't know how to word it but you know, things like soap, shampoo, linens, towels, toothbrushes, clocks, hairspray, contact cleaning liquid, sunblock, combs/brushes, random stuff like that.

Is there anywhere on campus that sells those things (but would it be a ripoff there)?

Where do Berkeley students go off campus to buy those types of things?
Is there like one store that many students like because of price/variety?

There is Walgreens, CVS, and Target. These stores carry all the items you listed.

Target probably has the best prices out of the three listed there, but it’s furthest away. If you have access to a car it’s no problem getting there though. Stock up on stuff from your ‘beginning of school’ Target trip so you don’t have to buy a ton of stuff from the very overpriced Walgreens. But, you’ll still end up buying plenty of stuff from there throughout the year.

Oh, thank you very much, stevenboi27 and ringopuppers. I’ll make sure to stock up at the beginning…I don’t have a car/can’t drive. :/

Where will you be living? I lived in Unit 3 for two years and got basically everything from Walgreens (it’s in that one block between campus and unit 3). It’s also pretty close to Units 1 and 2.

Getting to Target is very easy by bus. I would suggest taking the F bus to the Target in Emeryville. It is very easy to get to compared to the Albany Target. It will take approximately 30-40 minutes to get there.

I’m in Stern! I’ll probably go see the Walgreens (thank you, flutterfly_28).

And thank you for the tip, stevenboi27!!

I second slorg’s excellent advice. Sign up for Amazon Student to get free shipping, then you buy many necessities at a lower price on Amazon and have them shipped with two day express to your dorm for free.

[Amazon Student](http://www.amazon.com/gp/student/signup/info)

Also they often have great prices on textbooks, also ship free under Amazon Student, which you qualify for as a Cal student

Amazon is amazing for things you can wait the 2 days for, but for things you need NOW…obviously Walgreens.
