yeah, to lump all of the above into one kind of store, i’d say go to thrift stores in rich towns. alot of name-brand items, alot of really unique pieces… of course, you have to have some time to sift through alot of blah clothes, too.

The regular J Crew store is way too expensive for me, but I basically spend my life at the J Crew outlet. Everything is so cheap and so basic. I could buy my entire wardrobe there.

I buy almost all of my clothes at either Barneys or Nordstrom.com
I’m a Nordstrom addict, but apparently they don’t have a store in Manhattan yet.

Mostly shop at the Gap and thrift stores. Sometimes shop at the J Crew Outlet because the regular J Crew near my house only sells womens clothes for some odd reason.

Kohls (great for basics)
J Crew
Macy’s
Pac Sun
American Apparel
Urban Outfitters (yes!!!)
Gap
Banana Republic
Abercrombie
Hollister
American Eagle

At these stores, I find anything I need. They all are quite modern, sophisticated, and trendy (certain pieces). Obviously you might want to be a bit more selective at stores like A&F, HCO, AE, and Pac Sun because they do cater to the 18-under crowd.

^^^ me too. That is why i go to the bandana republic. I get nice dress socks for 2$, great polos from $10-15, pants for under $20, and this is WELL MADE CLOTHING without labels.
