I've looked EVERYWHERE and can't find a loft that fits an 80" mattress that isn't $700. I thought I found one at Walmart and ordered it just because it was the only one I had found and was running out of time, but nope, only fits a 76" mattress unlike the website told me. My school doesn't give you loft supplies unless you live in the freshman dorm, and I'm in the Honors College dorm... anyone have any suggestions?

Timbernest is the company recommended by D’s college to loft beds - most are XL twins.

My father and I both ended up making our own. I bought some lumber, some L-brackets and some screws and put it all together using a drill I borrowed from a guy down the hall. Find the engineers!
Alternatively, if power tools aren’t your thing, find the housing director and talk to them in person. Just ask them if they’ve got any extras still and who is in charge of them. Just ask really nicely and don’t back down. If after pushing the idea hard they still won’t help, ask who is in charge of storing/maintaining and installing them. I learned from my father that if you speak well, talk nicely and don’t take no for an answer you can get just about anything.
