Where do you spend the most time at Penn and Why?

So I am doing a big, self-campus tour and I'd like to know where you guys spend the most time. Most importantly why you spend the most time there: because you take a lot of X classes (biology, business, foreign language, etc.), because it's where you hangout with friends, its where you eat, read, sleep, study, relax, anything really. I'd like to do a campus tour and see places that I know I'd actually spend time at. Thanks a lot :D

Well then…don’t miss the Fisher Fine Arts library. I go there to think deep thoughts. It’s simply beautiful…they filmed part of the Tom Hanks movie “Philadelphia” in there.
Also check out Houston Hall, spend a lot of time there. And the large outdoor plaza gets filled with people if the weather is nice.

And Van Pelt, of course…

And Huntsman Hall as it is open 24/7 for those all-nighters…

Thanks. I’m going to Wharton so I’m definitely gonna check out huntsman a lot. What type of things do people do at Houston Hall and Van Pelt? Also, the Fisher Fine Arts library, do people usually go there to study/read/relax/socialize, or what? Thanks again man,

~ Alex

Hey there.

Fisher is for studying/reading. It’s a “quiet please” sort of library. Van Pelt is a more social library, it has a cafe and people will go there to study and socialize with anyone they run into…great place for the all-nighter-ers to commiserate :)

Houston Hall is on the more social end of the study spectrum. It has a lot of food places, and is the sort of place you’d go to study for an hour between classes and grab lunch and say hi to people you run into there…also with a constant stream of events going on in the two large event rooms at the east and west ends of the building…

If you have any other Qs on the Penn landscape (Pennscape?) or Penn in general, you can always feel free to PM me. I’m here to help people make the right decision (which of COURSE must be Penn ;))

That’s why you’re in Bangalore?

At least I still have my job :stuck_out_tongue: The world has flattened a bit since the days of 45%… ;)
