Yep, we've all been biting our nails off wondering if we've gotten accepted - so, where have you finally decided to go and why?

I have chosen Emma Willard as my new school. I'm going this fall and I am absolutely thrilled! Did anyone else get in and is planning to go there this fall?

I chose it because of the enviroment, it's the first girl's school in America, everyone is lovely, the campus is stunning, I can do practicum at Rensallaer Polytechnic institute, the food rocks, good choices of arts and extra curriculum, the dorms are roomy and furnished nicely, I can do alot of science at their new Hunter Science center, etc. I'm sure it was the right choice.

What about you guys? Any thrills or dissappointments?

I am a parent who has been reading this forum throughout my daughter's aplication process, but I've not ever posted. It has all been very interesting and informative. She has chosen St. George's, which she simply loved from her very first visit. It is not a school that has been talked about at all in this forum. Does anyone have any knowledge of it?

Do NOT get into the "which school is better" argument. It is soooooooo pointless. Any school that is a match for you, especially either of these 2, will provide you with all the information you need and the envirenment which will compel you to succeed. Even if one was better than the other, it would not be worth going if you are going to be miserable during some of the most important/fun years of your life!

Just thought I'd catch it just in case the arguement does break out. Now, hopefully tara can further elaborate on her decision.

Really? Run down? Maybe I'm biased, but I think Andover is so much more beautiful as a whole!! And we have a real town!! Near Boston!!! And we're harder to get into!!! Or used to be before this year if this board is statistically significant!!!!!!!!

SPS I can see as choosing a whole different environment, but PEA over Andover?

Suze, I live about 1/2 hour from Andover. I know the area (it's actually really nice/exclusive and I love the campus), but you get used to Boston after a while, although it is a MAJOR plus living near a city. Although this year the acceptance percentage only had a difference of about 1%, what does that have anything to do with why someone would choose one school over another?

In all honesty, although Andover did impress me a bit, I did not really like the facilities. I hated the Library (again, opinionated), I really did not like the science center as much as Exeter's (a major issue for me). The gym seemed a bit old to me also. Again, I really did not see Andover being as well kept as Exeter.

suze, where did you apply and were accepted, honestly (this is purely out of curiosity)?
