I'm a 17 year old junior in high school. This summer I want to start looking at colleges to apply to, but am at a stand still. I have no idea what "exactly" what I want to do. Actually, I do know that I defiantly want to major or minor in photography. Also I would like to major in something else because I don't know if I could support myself by just doing event photography.

Are there any east coast universities or colleges that have good photography programs?
I'm from Connecticut, and want to travel far away, but my parents don't trust me.(New England, Mid-Atlantic,and possibly South) Also I am just an average student. I actually did quiet poorly on the SAT'S:
440 Reading
420 Math
470 Writing

How about UArts? I’m not really familiar with the overall academic strength of the school, but I know they have photography as a major along with a lot of other fine arts-related majors. Philly really is an amazing city and it’d be a great place to find inspiration for your photography. Also, the Philadelphia Museum of Art is phenomenal and I’m sure it would also be an awesome resource for your studies. :)

Yes, I’ll check those all out on cb. I want to go to a college with a good arts program, and others. Going to an all arts school is very selective and doesn’t give much room for other major choices.

My daughter is going there right now after looking through all the east coast schools. It is a different kind of a 4 year program, but fit her very well.

Can you tell me more about King College? There is another school in the area, Virginia Intermont, which is also known for photography but it is in financial trouble.
