Where is everybody?

Musical_Maranda - LUCK!!

I am also stalking these forums trying to glean some important piece of information but all I have succeeded in doing is driving myself crazy. D already has several acceptances from fall auditions, but is still waiting on 6 more schools. We need that deep space sleep chamber from the movies so we can just go into temporary hibernation and wake up on April 1…preferably to LOTS of good news ;)

Fingers crossed for all who are still waiting that good news arrives soon!!

Ha ha  Thanks austinmtmom! Best wishes to your daughter! I agree… I just want to hybernate until April 1st, ha ha… though I think I’m supposed to get 3 letters this week… yay!

. . .and I’ve been reading CC steadily after stumbling on it 2 years ago! Out here in Portland, Oregon, people think I’m nuts when, in answer to their query of “does she have any schools in mind for next year,” I give them our list of 14!

My d is a junior and will begin the application process this summer, so it’s been so helpful to learn the ropes through CC, although I must admit to even buying online memberships in airports so I can wile away layover time visiting CC!

All of you out there waiting for acceptances, know you have someone out here in Oregon with fingers crossed for you!

Hibernation sounds like a really good plan to me! I am waiting, waiting, waiting right along with everybody else. This is hard!

Christie2, same here! When I tell people that my list is at 16 but I’d like to get it down to 12 at the max all I get is “…”!

I would seriously be LOST without CC. I can’t imagine going into the process without knowing what I do now. And it’s thanks solely to you guys. :)

I thought I was the only one in need of a 12 step program! This sight has been wonderful for me to get info and to channel some of this nervous energy while waiting for decisions. It also keeps me from boring my co workers who so don’t understand this process.

Almost nobody but us, our kids and the professionals on “the other side of the table” will understand this. I remember when my girlfriend came by one day and the expression on her face as she looked at my kitchen wall. I had dismantled a large desk-blotter type calendar and “wallpapered” the wall with it. She asked what the heck all of that was. I told her it was to finish out his senior year and get him into college.

Ha ha, I have been here since my D was in 8th grade and is now a senior in HS but has decided she only does MT to pay for dance. So after all those years I have been less present as she has shifted her focus.

This is funny… My D did this last year. Now I’m haunting the Ivy pages because I have a sophomore who has plans for an Ivy League School. But I come back here because I know kids who are going through or will go through this next year… Its funny…

This is very comforting. It’s nice to know that there are others out there dealing with clothes racks full of costumes all over the house and a wall full of post it notes and flow charts. This process is insane.

My “guest” bedroom is wall to wall costume racks! Ha! I am feeling sympathy pangs for all in the last days of the process. I think I will have lots of good quality dark chocolates on hand for March 2011 in this house. In the mean while, I am trying to figure out how we will ever visit schools, especially when they are doing shows, as my own D is up to her eyeballs in Rehearsal. How do you rip them out of their studios to see other folks at work when they are busy, busy themselves?

9 more days, everyone! March 20th is almost a week away. Eep! Although I am waiting for April 1st, too… 3weeks! AHHH!

AlexaMT-What happens on the 20th? I must have missed something-sorry if it is plain as day and I am not seeing it.

Oh haha, it’s definitely not for everyone/every school but theres 10 or so schools out there that say that’s when they’ll be letting people know. About 5 of mine, actually.

Thanks AlexaMT. I don’t remember hearing that date at any of my schools, but there is so much information. I don’t think I have done as good a job keeping it all straight as you have. I am waiting to hear from 4 schools and I have just kindof kept the April 1 date in my head. It would be nice to get news earlier though, especially good news. I am afraid I didn’t apply to enough schools, but I did what I could financially and timewise. I got one rejection in the fall, and still have 2 auditions to do. Eeeek.

I think most schools will be on break next week, so most likely not much will be happening

A lot of schools had their break this week, too, so nothing would be going on now.

Which schools are letting people know on March 20th, Alexa? :-)

I was told I know “by/around March 20th” by Elon, Baldwin-Wallace (website says that), Miami, and Coastal Carolina. Possibly Montclair, too. Webster, NYU, and Point Park defferal responses are April 1st.

I think when I was at Elon they said they called people who were accepted 3/15 and sent out notfications on that date. CMU usually calls people as well. Last year looks like people who were accepted heard around 3/14.
