Yeah, I heard that Elon typically calls people the weekend after their last Friday audition date (which is today) and that was 3/15 last year. Therefor, I’m terrified for this weekend. :)

AlexaMT…actually with NYU/Tisch…many (not all) of the accepted students will receive an invitation for an accepted student event before official admissions notifications come out around April 1. These invitations come in mid March. If you receive one, you will eventually be admitted. Last year, I think those invitations for Tisch were starting to be received around March 12.

Good to know! Thanks Soozie. I’ll hope for one but know that if it doesn’t come it’s not the end of the world.

Alexa…be it NYU or any school, if an acceptance doesn’t come, it is definitely not the end of the world, I can assure you. It can bite but one moves on, hopefully quickly (and this is gonna be a way of life from here on out). The main thing is to get into at least one of the schools you have chosen to apply to (I know you have so far) and so getting into more programs surely would be nice but it is not essential. Fingers crossed that things work out positively in the end in the BIG picture of the entire process.

Do the phone calls usually come to the students cell phones or their home phones, generally?

Many schools do not call with notifications, just so you know. But my assumption is that whatever phone number the student has on his/her application is the phone number used.

The year when my kid was an applicant, only one school called with the decision and it was Syracuse. They called our home phone as that was the number on my daughter’s application. And that’s a good thing as cell phones do not get reception at our house or locally!
