so is my class really behind or not? I wanna know how much self-studying i'm gonna have to do for the ap test

we're starting 32 in campbells...

my self studying just got to genetics.
i stopped for a while and wont continue that much until after feb ACTs.

Most classes jump around chapters a lot so it would be hard to say if one is behind or not.

Well, my AP Bio teacher skips around chapters. Currently, we're on Chapter 11 in Campbell's (the cell signaling chapter). However, we have already covered over two-thirds of the book.

we just finished unit three (genetics) in campbell.

(we've done units 1-3, and 8)

We just finished Chapter 17 from Campbell. (have done Ch. 1-17, 50-55)

Test on 30-32 is Monday. We've gone straight through the book, stopping for some labs along the way.

We just went over Ch.s 18-22 within the last week although we didn't learn anything. We finished 1-17 (excluding Ch 10) before that and those we learned for the most part. My teacher is trying to skip ahead to help us get through it at the expense of us learning anything. He expects about 4 of us to be able to pass out of 40 students total.

Still on fatty animal chapters on the pearson.

Just finished up Unit 3 (genetics)

"Fatty animal chapters"?

it seems like most of us are at the same point in the course.

Fatty animal chapters == chapters devoted to all the different types of animals

we just started evolution

we finished 1-17. now we're on 22 - evolution (i think?)

ok so my class isn't too behind...i'm asking because, last year, out of 9 kids that took the AP test, 2 passed (1 with a 3 and 1 with a 4)

^close to my class. 20 people took the AP test last year, one person passed and he's the guy that's earned a 5 on all the AP's he took (got his 1st 4).

so AP bio isn't easy to get a 5 on? :(

That depends on how well your teacher prepares you. I'm going to make a safe estimate, but I suspect I'm underestimating when I say at least 50% of the students from my school who take the AP Biology test get a 5 (and over a hundred take it from my school every year).
