Where is the best place to park for a unit 3 resident? How does it work?

Is it safe to bring a fairly nice car? It's somewhat old and small but the brand is...well it's a good brand name, which kind of worries me. Do people like steal stuff off ur car if it's in the RH parking structures? Where is the best place to park near unit 3?

Is there anything they don't tell u? Like after u get the permit, are you good? I don't want to get a ticket anywhere. I've gotten two parking tickets at a college when i was back home.

I’ve seen some bad things happen to cars in Berkeley. I remember the first time I ever even visited the school, I saw someone pull into a parallel parking spot and bump into the car in front of them. Then, they backed up and promptly hit the car in the spot behind them. Then, they pulled forward and AGAIN hit the car in front of them. The best part? After they did that, the driver got out of the car and just walked away like they didn’t even care! If I were the owner of either of those vehicles that were hit, I’d be cringing, but I guess when you take a car here you just learn to expect stuff like that.

I didn’t bring a car to school with me, but I’ve heard that getting parking tickets happens frequently in Berkeley, so if you’re bringing your car up with you, I wish you luck!

There’s really no need for a car. Seriously. You can walk, take the bus or BART to practically anywhere of relevance within the bay area. Having a car is going to be mostly an inconvenience.
