Hey. I'm a freshman in Wesleyan University now. I have a GPA of 3.8 and a quite solid resume with employment, leadership and sports all there (and of substantial amount as well). I'm currently considering transferring but have missed the deadline for admission next fall. So besides the few school that offer spring admission, I think I might have to apply for a place in junior year. I'm thinking Columbia, Stanford, Yale, Stern and Wharton (if I can fulfill the requirements in my school, that is). Do I stand a chance? I'm pretty confident I can get my GPA up to 3.9 next year.

you do stand a chance, although as we all know, its really impossible to say with places like those. just curious, why are you transferring out of wesleyan? im trying to get in and trying to gather as much info as possible. good luck next year! you do stand a chance, just get your gpa as high as possible!

It's actually very nice, just that I've always lived in a city and would like to study in one. Another thing is that I want a more pre-professional focus. Wesleyan is really nice though, people are very interesting and nice and classes are great. It's just that I'm not used to the suburbia sort of environment. Most of my friends here think it's the perfect school. To me, it almost is.

yeah that sounds just what im looking for. and dont worry i totally understand that some schools are right for some people and not for others. But im coming for a big school like that and its time to move on. I think you have a good shot for next year especially considering you're coming from such a competetive school.
