I really am having a tough time deciding - should I go to Boston College or Trinity College (Connecticut)? I think BC has some more prestige/name recognition, but I got a somewhat better feeling from Trinity. Also, the whole Jesuit think at BC was a little intimidating. BC has boston, while Trinity only has Hartford...what do you guys think?

Maybe I'm biased because I live in Boston, but BC has a really nice rep here. I work at Harvard Med and my supervisor who's a technician graduated from BC actually. She had a great time at BC, is not exactly a religious freak, and appreciated the academic rigor that she received. (Apparently more rigorous than the Harvard classes she has been taken lately.) BC is pretty with pretty people, but that can be a pro or a con--the student population is a bit homogenous, with white rich kids. But, it's not necessarily the case. They are very very big in sports, if that means anything to you. Boston is a great city, so social life should be no problem.

As for Trinity, I don't really know anything about the school...

Where did you feel most comfortable on campus? That'll help.

Yeah - Boston is a huge draw, but I did feel a wee bit more comfortable at Trinity. I think that I'm leaning towards BC...Which would be better for going to grad school afterwards?

It'll depend on your grades & scores (same as before) -- If you want to go to grad school at BC, then go undergrad there as well since it'd give you a leg-up with the adcom -- Of course, there's always Trinity undergrad and BC grad. Tough choice.

You should definately consider what type of grad school you want to go to. One of my teachers is married to a doctor who went to Trinity, she applied to fifty med schools and was only accepted to one and waitlisted at one other, this is with good grades and scores. If you want to go to med school BC is probably the way to go.
