Where should I go?

So I'm currently at NYU in the college of arts and sciences as an undecided freshman. I have NO IDEA what I want to major in (don't worry, I've set up appts to take tests to find a major), but I need to transfer for my sophomore year. I want a place with a campus, more straight men, and access to a major city. I also want it to be much smaller, possibly around 10,000 or less, and academically comparable to NYU. Thoughts/suggestions? I'm not picky about coasts or anything. OH and I'd prefer somewhere that gives financial aid to transfers? I'm getting $20,000/year here. THANK YOU!!

Academically comparable is very subjective. I think NYU is academically comparable to BU (not BC). It has a really good name and ranks highly on rankings, but I don’t see it as just an academic school.

Talking about Boston, there’s Tufts, BC, Brandeis, and (assuming that you’re a girl), Wellesley – although Wellesley may be smaller than you want.

Then there is Georgetown, Rice, Emory and Carnegie Mellon.

Hope that list helps (also, no matter where you end up, you’ll probably get more $$ than you get at NYU)

What are your scores and HS and college GPA and ECs?

I’m at NYU too, and looking to transfer out as well so I totally understand where you’re coming from. Maybe you should look at some LAC’s if you want a smaller university? Also, we need your GPA and ACT/SAT to fully evaluate your chances. Good luck, and can you please chance me too? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1252109-transferring-out-nyu-help-me-fellow-ccers.html

32 ACT, hs gpa 4.4 weighted, 4.0 unweighted. HOWEVER college gpa: 3.0 which definitely lowers my emphasis on academic comparison to nyu
