Hey guys, newbie here. I'm from Jakarta, Indonesia. I applied to several schools in the U.S and got into Bryant University (safety), Villanova University, and UR. I'm leaning towards UR right now because of the comments posted on this forum and also because Villanova is much more religious compared to UR. I'd appreciate any of your comments to help me make my decision.

I wanted to ask you guys about racism at UR. I've been in an international school all my life and haven't been discriminated because of my race in any way. I've heard a lot about racism in Virginia but chose not to believe this until I heard it from someone living there. Thanks for your help =)

Chances are, you'll only experience racism if you're looking for it. I got into Villanova and Richmond, and take it from me - you can find racism anywhere, including the Philadelphia area (where I live).

Where should you go? Villanova and Richmond should be considered equal, both are very good schools.

yeah they are equal in terms of academic reputation, now its just up to you. Do you want to be more cosmopolitan with Philly nearby or a bit more out there with Richmond?

I live in VA. Richmond is no more racist than anywhere else. UR is in the suburban part of Richmond. It's a beautiful campus surrounded by beaautiful neighborhoods.
