Hey guys, i'm gonna be a transfer next semester and i'm kind of confused where to live. I put down Hinman as my first choice, but people are telling me it's a bad choice. I will live with 5 random kids and most students living there will know eachother. Should I live in Newing and meet new people?

Hinman is perfectly fine- the downside of having random roommates will affect you in an suite.

I would recommend CIW- more “social” if that’s really you’re concern and not nearly as far as Newing is from life.

Don’t transfer into Hinman, they have the oldest buildings and the community is… alright. Hinman and Mountianview both have these kinda secluded atmospheres, where people stick to their own community and chill in their suites most of the time.

So I would advise going to either Newing or CIW. Both have super-active communities and are great for a transfer to get into. I lived in Newing this past year as a freshman, and it was amazing. Loads of amazing people and things to do, from starting up football games to knowing where to go out on the weekends. I don’t know what type of person you are, but Newing is definitely more greek oriented than CIW, I’d say the majority of people in Newing go out on the weekend’s, and while I’m not in greek life, I still find myself at frats a lot. CIW on the other hand is very active but a lot of it is focused on campus. They probably have the most connected community, they have bandfest and stuff like that during weekends, which is always cool. Not only that, but they are right next to the nature preserve, which is always nice.
