Where should we park on Sunday?

<p>Dd & I will be arriving early Sunday afternoon and would like to wander around campus before the structured events on Monday. I see that parking is free on Sundays, but is this limited to the visitor’s parking decks, or is there a better place to park to wander around?</p>

<p>Are there any public areas that will be open on Sundays that we should check out? (She’ll be more interested in places like the library or history/nature areas than the football stadium…)</p>

<p>I think you can park in any of the lots on Sunday. When we’ve gone there on Sundays, we’ve parked that inner small parking lot by Gorgas Library…I think that’s ok…does anyone know???</p>

<p>I would go to the Riverwalk, park my car and walk along the trail. I don’t think the Farmers Market is open on Sunday…anyone know? </p>

<p>I don’t know if the museums are open on Sundays. I think the Paul Bear Bryant Museum is open, but it doesn’t sound like your D would like that because it’s about the history of the Crimson Tide…even tho it is interesting.</p>

<p>I’d familarize myself with popular student areas…The Strip, Downtown, and Midtown Village.</p>

<p>Yes, no zone enforcement on weekends and weekdays before 7am and after 6pm (except for designated handicap and 24/7 faculty spots).</p>

<p>Thanks. I won’t worry about parking on Sunday then, and we’ll play the ‘wandering’ by ear. Dd would love to visit the Museum of Natural History, but it is closed on Sundays. We’ll try to sneak in on Monday if possible since we won’t need to sit through the Admissions and Financial Aid sessions on the schedule.</p>

<p>We like to wander around the new Science and Engineering Complex – especially the center area of Shelby Hall (there is an arch on 2 sides that you can walk thru to get to the center area). We like to walk around the Quad…and wander around The Strip.</p>
