Where the #%$*#(@!*# can I take the PSAT???

I got a B- in history last year.

Almost has an aneurysm.

If you didn't have so many posts I would think you're a troll.

You really need to take it down a notch, a B is not the end-all tombstone of your future.

Even if GASP you went to an "inferior state school" and not an ivy, it's the student and not the school that creates success.

You're only a sophomore, all you should be thinking about right now are keeping your grades decent WITHOUT KILLING YOURSELF and doing what you enjoy - you're much too young to be "almost having aneurysms".

Please, go on vacation or something.

I don't have money for vacations.

I suggest you get a good book on college admissions (suggest Admission Matters) and get some general knowledge on the process, including the difference between PSAT/SAT/ACT.

PSAT - Only offered in October. Counts as a scholarship competition during junior year only. Scores are not reported to colleges.

SAT - Offered 6 times a year. There are SAT exams and Subject Exams. Some colleges require a certain number of subject exams. Anytime you send a score report to a college, they will see all your prior scores on SAT and Subject exams. Refer to College Search - SAT Registration - College Admissions - Scholarships for more information.

ACT - Also offered multiple times a year. Covers 4 subject areas plus optional writing section. High score is 36. If you take the ACT multiple times, you may select which scores will be seen by the college. Refer to ACT: Resources for Education and Workplace Success for more information.

Wow calm down HS...no need to get this excited over these tests.
Regarding the PSAT, since soph doesnt count anyway...you arent at any disadvantage right now. PSAT is one of the few standardized tests where you can actually purchase previously administered tests from CB online (SAT/ACT can only be purchased if you take it the time they offer to sell it...otherwise you cant get it). Something like $6 per test...but you would end up taking the EXACT SAME test that your friends took in school. Plus it would be self scored etc.

If you have money, you could be like some people I know who have taken ACT 5+ times lol...so if you feel like you have nothing to do soph year, go waste a saturday morning and give it a shot. If you mess up, who cares, just take it again junior year to improve upon the score, and colleges never see that report. And if you get lucky, you're done.

Now SATs on the other hand...make sure you do them only when you're completely prepped, since all scores show.

dude calm down, you only take it officially once a year (October). You can PRACTICE by buying a review book and just taking it in the library or something (time yourself).
