Where the hell should I go?

So NYU was by far my first choice, but unfortunately they wait listed me. The dumbest thing I ever did was not check off the early decision box on my application (I sent mine out the day before ED was due). Anyways, I was accepted to six schools, of which I am only considering four. I really just wanted NYU because I love New York City, and couldn’t imagine myself anywhere else. However, now that I am faced with such different schools, I have absolutely no idea if I want a large school or a small school, or a city school or a suburban or rural school. I do know that I want to study pre-med, and possibly major in Journalism (in those schools that have that major). Here are my options:

University of Maryland College Park ~ honors program and 5 thousand a year scholarship

Lehigh

GW with half scholarship (will still end up costing me close to 30 thousand a year)

Colgate

Any thoughts or ideas are much appreciated. Thanks!

Personally I'd choose Colgate for great small classes and a wonderful college experience.

I'd choose Colgate too! I'm really sorry about NYU.. that's very frustrating. It really depends on what you want from a college experience though. You know, even if you don't get off the waitlist at NYU, you'll probably end up going to the city after college anyways. The city's more fun in your twenties:) I grew up in NY and I actually hated the city as a kid.. all that walking. I'm still in high school, but my friends' older siblings all told me to stave off going to big cities like NY until after college. You have great choices though! Good luck with your decision.
