Where to Buy Prom Dress Shopping in NYC

<p>So, totally not college-related, but google is failing me, so I figured I'd ask CC.</p>

<p>I'm going prom-shopping in NYC with two of my aunts who know the city very well, but I have no idea where to go. I'm thinking Saks, but there's a Saks thirty minutes from me so that's not very special. I want to go to a few stores that are uniquely "New York" so that I can actually have a reason for driving 4 hours to get a prom dress, you know?</p>

<p>My price range is pretty much anything under $1000, and, like I said, I'm trying to avoid department stores that can be found in your average mall (ie: Macy's, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus...)</p>

<p>Two that I’d recommend are BCBG and Badgley Mischka. And if you don’t live near a Bloomingdales, you should definitely check out their prom shop!</p>
