My plan for college is to major in biochemistry or chemistry. I am thinking of possibly going to medical school after. I know that med schools only look at people with good grades, meaning that if I go to a place with a ridiculously tough grading system and my grades are bad, I'll have a really hard time getting into med school. Does anyone know where I could go to school, preferably in the mid-atlantic region, that has a decent but not too tough biochem or chem program? I heard Elmira College was a good one, but I'm not sure.

Soo basically.. is Elmira a good choice? And what are other colleges that fit my description?

I'm really stressed out about this, so any kind of feedback would be great.

Cornell, Duke, Wash U all have strong bio and science programs (Cornell has good premed, but I think it's hard to do really well), but those schools may be reaches for you.

Post some stats and we can give better advice....

I have a unweighted gpa of 3.5, 4.0 weighted, 13.. 13 something (I can't believe I don't remember!)..1350 maybe? for my sats, rank 90/413.. is that enough?

I do have another year (or semester I haven't decided) of high school, so all this info could change a little bit. But I am only taking a couple of classes at my high school, because I'm taking classes at the community college, so it probably won't change significantly.

I'm not really looking into pre-med as a major because if I change my mind about going to med school, I won't have as many choices for other careers as I would if I did something like chem or biochem. Makes sense, right?
