Where to live next year?

Debating where to live next year at NC State. Here are my options: I was thinking either one of the tri towers, even though the rooms are tiny its on central campus. My other option right now is either tucker or owen because I have a friend in FYC, the only problem is that its hall style but then again it is in central campus. My last option is university towers: I know it gets the rep as a party dorm but I dont have a problem with that at all, the rooms are bigger im just not sure if living off campus freshman year is the best idea. If anyone has any input or opinions, let me know, I would love to hear from some current students or other rising freshman.

Hi! I’m a rising freshman, and I signed up for the tri-towers mostly because of their location on central campus. I want to be in the middle of everything for the first year, even though the rooms are tiny. I figured I could find somewhere nicer later down the line!

They are all good choices. The Tri Towers are great if you want to get to know people. You should befriend all your suite mates unless they aren’t your type. Tucker and Owen are basically the same as the Tri Towers, except in hall style. They are in the same location, same size rooms about, same variety of people, etc.

UT is good if you think you will fit in with that crowd. Living there is fine freshman year. I know a lot of freshmen who live there and they all like it. But a lot of them are also frat types and go to a lot of parties, so they fit in.

Just to clarify, University Towers (UT) is not a “dorm”. It is off-campus housing and it is not affiliated with NCSU Housing, but it is a great option for a lot of students!

My S graduated a few years ago. He lived in Owen as a freshman and loved it. He would have stayed in Owen another year if it were not freshman only. If you can get into Tucker or Owen I don’t think you’d be sorry. Having a sink in your room is a nice perk too.

I signed up for the WISE Living and Learning Villages, so I’ll be living in Lee. It’s a little more out of the way since it’s on East campus, but I like the suite style. Plus, it’s getting renovated this summer!

*West campus, my bad
