Where to live?

Just curious on what apartments are best in Tally, and how far is too far to live. Some apartments that look nice are 3 miles from the campus and i takes to someone and she said that was too far. Im going up there in a couple months to look at apartments, but i would love suggestions on where to live and how far i should stay. Thanks!

I’m moving to villa del lago. But university trails are really nice. It really depends on how much your willing to spend.

Honestly it’s really going to depend on what you’re looking for and your price range.

For convenience to campus, if you can afford it, Grand Marc (across Tennessee Street from the northwest side of campus), is pretty nice. Personally, that would be one of the first places I’d probably look. The last time I was there in a friend’s place (2-3 years ago, though), it was really nice. It also came with a similar price tag, though, which was one of the reasons I didn’t ever even consider it. But it supposedly is now a lot cheaper; I’m guessing it’s to compete with other close places. No idea what the current going rate is though or whether they’re full.

Advice, avoid Seminole Grand. I haven’t ever heard a good thing about the place. It’s apparently prone to burglaries and the like since it’s located basically on the edge of Frenchtown. It’s also apparently not that great of a place to live because the apartments aren’t that nice.

I’ve also had friends live in Osceola Ridge, which is a little bit from campus on Ocala Road. They’re pretty nice, though I will say that the driveway into the place was really cramped, as was parking. If you have a larger car (or even a mid-size SUV like an Explorer), it might not be ideal.

Thanks! my price maximum is like 550. I just don’t know how far away from campus i should live? I am not a very outgoing person, and just expect to work and go to school. Not really into parties and stuff, just ready to move on with my life lol

soccerpro88 I think you will find that the closer your apt is to FSU the more it will cost. With your budget you might need to look a little farther. Almost all the apt. complex that we looked at had a bus stop in front.

Do you have roommates?

$550 if you’re including utilities is going to be a hard sell.

I post the link to the FSU Off-campus housing search page a lot but it can help you narrow down where you are starting to look: http://offcampushousing.fsu.edu/

You may be able to find some ideas that are close in place to what you’re looking for and may be able to compile a list of places to look at when you come to Tallahassee.

@Lauralm1‌ well my cousin live up there now, but he’s a partier and I’m not into that all the time like he is. I’m just trying to find some nice easy going, mature roommates. I was looking at university green but that’s like 3 miles away. Idk if that’s too far. @Pasbal‌

Hey check out villa del largo that’s where I’m loving . It’s located on Pensacola like 2 miles away .

And there’s a bus stop that will take you to school everyday

both my daughters are living at 1111 on High. 2bed2 bath unfurnished is $515 and furnished is $575. The 3/3 are $405-$505. Its about 2.5 miles and has a bus stop out front.
