I'm looking for a reasonably-priced hotel near the campus for my son and me to stay at for the the Decision Day weekend. Any suggestions on good ones or ones to avoid? I've looed on Hotels.com and some of the ones in the area have some very negative reviews. I'd like to keep uit under $100 per night if possible. Thanks.

If you search here you can find info about priceline in the UD area. We used it almost every time we came down during DD’s 4 years. It got to the point where the front desk at the Hilton recognized us.

PRICELINE!!! Put in Newark, DE and 3 (or 3.5) stars. You will either get a Marriott or Hilton property. You can get it for $50-$60. If you’re lucky, you’ll get the Courtyard Marriott on campus. If not, the other hotels are just 5-10 min away. Very easy.

A slightly different question, we were thinking about bringing S to Decision Day, he’s entering HS next year. That would make 4 of us, D, S, mom and dad. Bad idea? He has toured a couple of campuses with D and it has motivated him to work a little harder at his studies.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll try Priceline.

It works great. I got the idea from reading older threads. I got The Marriot at Christiana for April 8 two weeks ago for $50.

Thanks!

I’ll second LINYMOM! Priceline is the way to go. We’ve had great luck, even stayed once at the Marriott on campus for 65.00

Yes, thanks to this thread I was able to book a room at the Courtyard Newark/Christiana for $60. Thanks everyone.
