Ohare has some crap going on, a train from the blue line crashed dtraight into the airport actually. scary stuff. I would get a cab instead. eEnjoy the city, though!

@broadwaybum-The train accident at O’Hare was on 3/24 and happened just before 3AM. The driver has been fired.
There is no reason to fear the El as one is much more likely to have an accident in a car!
Many colleges in Chicago give transit passes to their students, which is a great perk- my D takes the El to school every day and buses even to places like the zoo. Terrific city!

We are in Chicago right now and have looked at Columbia ad DePaul and will be seeing Roosevelt tomorrow. Blue Line to OHare is working and the “L” has been fantastic. Our Ventra card has worked great. Both DePaul and Columbia give the students Ventra cards that work on all transit, “L” or bus. The minimal costs for the card are worked into the tuition. I am sure Rossevelt will be the same.

Yes, CCPA kids have a transit pass as well. Have a great trip @evilqueen!

Sorry we’ll miss you evilqueen. We’ll be there next Wednesdsy - Sunday. Touring the school on Thursday and seeing Roosevelt’s production of Thoroughly Modern Millie on Saturday. When you were at DePaul, did you ask them whether or not they have a cut system? I heard they do but it might have been for a different major (my daughter is also interested in set design and construction - so I may be mixing up the majors in my mind).

Thank you so much @jkellynh17, D loved Columbia but was not happy with DePaul because they don’t even have MT classes until their third year and then they treat it like a “technique” and not a genre unto itself. She is really excited about Roosevelt tour tomorroe and so am I. @BethsMom we did not ask specifically about a cut system but I don’t think they have one based on all the information that we did get. I was super impressed with the program and the new facility at DePaul and especially the fact that you are guaranteed casting in a show, even as a freshman. If only they had MT…

We are here now too! Just spent the day at CCPA. We met with Patrick, had lunch in the cafeteria, took a tour, and saw VIVID. Met several talented kids and staff and similarly glassy eyed parents. I specifically want to send a shout out to my favorite “green” lurker of all time. One very talented kid I can tell you

Also had the privilege of meeting your son, @JKellynh17! He’s even more handsome in person!

Tomorrow we are going to explore a bit more of Chicago and see Road Show at Chicago Shakespeare theatre.

@Octaviar, we saw Venus in Fur tonight at Goodman and Peter and the Starcatcher at BofA Theater. Goodman is a great Chicago institution and the performances are fantastic, even if the material is hard. Peter and the Starcatcher is just wonderful! Sorry to miss you on the tour, CCPA tomorrow for us!

@octaviar, so jealous, I will not see my s again until late summer. How was Vivid?

VIVID was good. The theatre is magnificent. Bummer the kids don’t have access to it more often. Your S looked great, and was having a good time. :)

Have fun at CCPA today @evilqueen!
