remember, amrik got his fedexed to him, hes a us citizen overseas... texas137? shainghaiwes? anyone?

amrik was international though, so he got special treatment. Mine was mailed on the 13th.

Edit: bah, korin, you beat me to it.

You know, I've often found that mailing things across several states takes a shorter amount of time than mailing them within California. It's just a quirk of the mail system. Don't wear yourselves out trying to figure out an exact formula for whether you're in or not depending on when you receive your letter.

bah, still no letter.

My son also got his letter today in CA! We all jumped up and down at the mailbox. People driving by smiled.

I like how the deferrals seem to have stopped and there are only accepts today

Yeah it's really nice to see people get accepted, then again this is voluntary response...

giggles - self-selected samples are very unreliable :)

still nothing, but a guy from my school just got accepted today, so maybe tomorrow...? crosses fingers
this waiting is going to drive me nuts...

I wonder if CalTech and MIT are disdainful of those who apply EA to both. Afterall, EA is supposed to mean the school is your first choice... CalTech didn't interest me too much so I applied EA only to MIT and I got admitted -- w00t. Best of luck to others applying to MIT; and don't be too distraught about defferal. Defer/admit is more common than you think ;P

No EA doesn't really mean "first choice," it just means that you have your stuff ready and you feel that you can apply... it often connotes that the school is one of your first choices (like top 3 or something), ED is what really means first choice. Then again many people who apply to CIT and MIT EA consider one or the other their first choice (in some cases it may be a tie for people, but the institutions are different enough to enable most to pick one over the other all things being equal).

I think Caltech recommends EA to those who are considering Caltech as "one of their first choices," or something along those lines.

yeah, got my letter today, accepted... they definately mailed out the deferrals and accepts on different days...

I just want to offer my warmest congratulations to all of you who were recently admitted! I hope to see you all at prefrosh weekend.
