Hi all,
I was wondering if you had any advice -my son has taken the ACT 3 times, with the last test having the highest result. However, because of the subscores, the first two tests have a higher superstore than the last test (32 vs 31). He doesn’t know whether to submit all scores, giving him a higher superstore, or just the last test. I know it is not much of a difference, but might make a difference for merit money/acceptances. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance
What were the scores of the first two? can you share all the subscores ? which colleges is your son looking into?
if the colleges he is applying to superscore, it’s best to send all
How about you call the colleges directly. Why risk jeopardizing merit awards by asking a bunch of strangers who have absolutely no link to any of the colleges you’re interested in?
Thanks, everyone, for the input. dota2fan, I would probably send all scores in, but thought that sending three sets might seem a bit excessive. mmk2015, it never occurred to me to ask colleges directly - good idea! Annamom, I don’t have all the scores on hand, but we did go over the earlier tests and the subscores were very uneven, hence the higher subscore. The most recent test was solid but didn’t hit the highest scores of the earlier two tests. My son is looking at a bunch of different colleges, some of which won’t superstore (our instate options, for example), but some of which will definitely take it into account (out-of-state privates).
You can selectively decide what to send to each college based upon their test policies. Good luck.
my2caligirls -thanks, I will do that. Now, if only he could decide on his list!
