Which activities to list?

I'm worried that my activities section on the common app is going to look thin, so i'd like to list as many as possible. I've got a few questions:

1) I've been taking piano for 9 years, and i've participated in competitions every year. Do I have to group all of them under one activity section, or can I get away with listing them as separate activities? If the latter is applicable-
2) Could I list something like "taking piano lessons" or "taking guitar lessons" as an activity, even though I wouldn't have anything to fill out for leadership/awards?
3) Is the position/leadership section limited to only leadership positions? Could I put in something like "student", "member", or "participated in" (with no significant roles)?
4) Could I list something like being part of a church youth group (without any leadership roles or awards) in this section? If I could, would it do any good?

Thanks in advance.

You could list piano as more then one thing as long as you do different things inviting it. For example if you play piano for a band and take lessons that could be too things.

You don’t have to have leadership roles in order to list it. Leadership roles are things colleges want to see but they also want to see dedication to activities.

Oh thanks! One more question, would Kumon be considered an extracurricular activity? I’ve completed the full reading program, but it seems a little academic.
