1.) AP US Gov't and Politics or AP European History?
2.) AP Environmental Science or AP Human Geography?

does it matter which one I take?

1.) AP US Gov't and Politics or AP European History?
2.) AP Environmental Science or AP Human Geography?

does it matter which one I take?

Yep, the latter two are generally considered to be easier than the former. So..choose between US Govt and AP Euro. AP Euro is hard, that would probably be your best bet. Harder courses look better in a sense.

no, I meant that I'm deciding between the options in each group.

So you have 4 courses you can take and you can choose 2? Then choose the first 2..because they're considered harder.

euro history all the way!

bummppppp... i mean that I'll be taking two courses from the list above (1 science and 1 history). the question is: which ones are best??

I'm not sure about the difficulty. But a lot of schools accept Euro while only a few accept gov. Colleges also are more inclined to accept Environmental than human.

id say euro and geography

why are you asking which one "looks better?" Do a bit of research. Which one interests you more?

Man, everyone here is crazy about "what looks good on the resume." Me included to an extent, I guess... =D

Ohhhh you mean to choose 1 from each group
Okay yeah I'd go with steve, euro and geography

please don't ask "what is better"

the better one is the one you WANT to take.

what interests you?

I'm taking environmental and psychology next year as aps because they are subjects i take interest in.

the AP course that one might want to take may not always be the best looking on college apps. It's always better to show that u've challenged yourself. To answer the OP, i think you should take AP Euro and AP Human Geo.

Yes, it's necessary to show that you've challenged yourself in high school. Any AP is considered by most colleges to be challenging and "above and beyond." However, it's sad that students must make decisions about classes based on "what looks better" rather than a personal desire to learn more about a certain subject. I say, take the classes you desire and do well in them. Challenge yourself with extracurriculars. Take on a project, take on an internship.. do something great.

Does it interest you? Take it. You only live one life. Don't be a slave to the education system.

Take whatever interests you, but of your choices, I would take Modern Euro and Human Geography. Many schools do not accept Environmental Science AP for credit...so unless you are super interested in that, go for the human geography.

there's an AP Human Geography course?
wow..this is news to me....

bump??? anyone else??

European History is better than Government and Politics. Environmental Science and Human Geography are equally cream puff classes. You should take AP Biology, Chemistry, or Physics if available.

Take the courses that you most enjoy, because you'll do better in them. Getting an A will look great in any of the courses.

Euro and environmental

Social Pariah, I disagree vehemently. Education is not, and should not be about what looks better, EVER.

Don't give up on what you want to take. It's better to be a happy and well-educated person than a "stats kid." Following your passions reflects more - even to colleges, but more importantly, to yourself - than fitting yourself into the mold of "what colleges are supposed to want."

There are going to be tons of stats kids who've taken the "right" courses. Don't compete with them. Don't try to go in as one of them.
Apply, or don't apply, as you will, as yourself, not one of many.

Take what you want, and LEARN about what interests you. That's what school is about.

(though I think AP Modern European History is just more culturally important than US gov, regardless of collegination, and gives a vital perspective on the world. I don't believe ANYONE should go without taking a Modern European History course.)
