Which AP should I take next year?

I'm planning on taking AP Biology and AP Chemistry (1 during my junior year, 1 during my senior). My question is which one should I take next year (as a junior)?

If I take AP Biology, I'll have to learn Organic Chemistry on my own during the summer, using resources that my teacher will provide. However, I'm considering doing the Biology Olympiad, in which case I'd have to learn all of the AP Biology material next year anyway.

However, my school recommends that we take AP Chemistry during our junior year, and AP Biology during our senior, since Organic Chemistry is covered in AP Chemistry.

So which should I do?

“If I take AP Biology, I’ll have to learn Organic Chemistry on my own during the summer”

Wait, why?

chem, it looks better on a transcript

I’d have to learn Organic Chem on my own because it’s technically a part of the course so we’re tested on it. We don’t actually cover it in class though, because my school assumes that you already took Grade 12 Chemistry the year before you take Grade 12 Biology.

Thanks for the replies :)

wait are your AP science classes double periods like mine?

AP Chem then AP Bio because after you’ve been accepted into college Sr year, you won’t want to be in AP Chem.

Nope, they’re just like a normal class in terms of period length…
and O__o I’m scared now XD

Have you taken all your core sciences yet (bio, chem and physics)?

Nope…I’m currently taking Enriched Grade 11 Biology and Chemistry. My school only lets us take 2 core sciences per year, so next year, I’ll be taking Physics + an AP, and then senior year, I’ll be taking AP Physics + another AP

I personally would not recommend taking physics and an AP science. Physics is so different from other science and moves very quickly. Why not just take an elective?

I mostly want to take 2 sciences next year because I want to take all 6 senior science courses by the end of high school (so that I can get a feel for all of them/keep my options open for university, since I haven’t decided what I want to major in yet)
