I'm want to move to either Susquehanna, Hillside, or University Plaza. Could people share their experiences with these places, and tell me which one they prefer and why? Thanks!

University Plaza is not associated with the university. It is privately owned. The waiting list is large and the rent is high, but the shopping area around it, and the apartments themselves are nice.

Susquehanna is for people who want peace and quiet, so no loud partying. You sign an agreement for 24 hour quiet hours if you live there. Good location (better than Hillside anyway) and next to a HUGE parking lot (M).

Hillside is ridiculously far from everything. Less restrictions than Sus. Has two smaller lots but since no one likes going all the way up there, its less competition for spots.

I like Sus.

I live in Hillside now, and though it’s kind of far from everything I actually love it. I’m ridiculously busy, so when I’m on lower campus, I’m there for the day, so the trip back and forth doesn’t bother me as much since I only go down once, and up once a day, usually. Also, living so far from campus, and not having so many RAs in the building is nice, makes me feel more grown up as silly as that sounds. I also recommend looking into the newer buildings in Hillside (rockland and saratoga). I live in Rockland, and my apartment is beautiful. <3

Yeah UP is mighty expensive, and you have to take a bus to get to class. If you walk, expect about 20-30 minutes to class (almost no one walks). However, the buildings are super nice, and it’s located in a strip mall environment, so there’s a starbucks, bubble tea place, pizza place, chinese place, subways, five guys burger joint…all available right from the get-go. The only downside is that there doesn’t seem to be a grocery or convenience store around.

Hillside is like susquehanna except farther. You could walk to class, but expect it to be 15 going down, and 20 minutes coming back up. It has doubles and singles, so if you’re not lucky, you might have to share a room with someone.

Susquehanna is the choice for me. I lived there for 5/8’s of my time at Bing, and I can’t see myself living anywhere else. It’s quiet and the majority of rooms are singles (I think there are like 3 rooms that are doubles). It’s a 10 minute walk to class, which is not a big deal to me. And if you wanna visit your friends at Hillside, it’s a 5-10 min walk.

Hillside no longer has doubles. The doubles are now called super singles.
