Title says it all. My top 3 are Player Club, Venetian Villas, and Campus Park at Tenn Street. I just went up to Tally this weekend and went to all of the places i was considering. Still weighing the pros and cons of the 3. It would be great to hear any reviews and or experiences one may have of any of these 3. Thanks!
Off the top of my head I don’t know much about Player’s Club (except that it’s next to Publix on Ocala, right?) or Venetian Villas. I have had lots of friends live in Campus Park though and have been there several times. While the apartments aren’t bad at all, I will say that the road into the complex and the parking lots there are absolutely awful. I know plenty of people that had small cars that struggled to get in and out of the place: made worse if there was a moron that was blocking either the entrance or the exit.
While it’s not a bad place to live, those couple things just ruin it for me. If that doesn’t bug you though it’s a nice enough place, it seems.
My D is finishing her Freshman year and moving to an off-campus apartment next year - the choices can be overhelming, so I suggest making a list of priorities. Because she has a car and on-campus parking is such a hassle if you don’t live in the dorms (even then it can be far away), we decided it was important for her to be within walking distance. Having her own bathroom was another factor…a gated entrance for security, fully furnished (we don’t want to deal with buying, setting up or moving heavy furniture), nice amenities, not paying extra for parking, separate leases for each tenant etc. She is moving into a brand new 4-bedroom 4.5 townhome at UClub on Woodward this Fall.
There is no right or wrong - a lot depends on your S/D, their class schedule, and if they have a car or not. We decided that paying a little more for walking distance to campus, the fact its a brand new, 3-level town home are worth it - but I also understand that it may be out of some price ranges. There are some cheaper, nice places further away, just wasn’t worth it for us or her…and UClub is sold out from what I hear.
