Can you describe the different residence halls open to freshman?

Freshman dorms are sorted by freshman seminar or program typically.

Jarvis: the biggest dorm for first-years, and is located right on the Long Walk (main quad). Quadside is mostly doubles (Jarvis Towers are an exception) and streetside is all singles. Has window seats and filled-in fireplaces. Rooms are small and oddly shaped. ISP and Cities kids get put here (among others). A few quads and triples

North Campus: on Vernon Street (where the frats are located). Fire alarms get pulled fairly regularly by drunks on Vernon. Far from classes, average rooms. One-room doubles.

Jones: One-room doubles near the dining hall. Usually has the Guided Studies and InterArts kids.

Elton: Across from Jones. Two-room doubles mostly. This year, Elton is integrated with some upperclassmen. Best rooms available for freshmen.

Funston: Integrated housing this year. If integration ends, this won't be available to you. Quads for upperclassmen, large singles for freshmen. Little RA activity, located between Jones/Elton and the math building.

Little, Frohmann-Robb: On Crescent Street (periphery of campus). Grungy, small one-room doubles away from everything else. Generally regarded as the worst housing on campus, and the closest to the rest of real (i.e. poor) Hartford.
