Hey guys,
Im a junior. I have a CGPA of 3.62 and a WGPA of 4.05
I got two 1990's on the SAT's, but my best scores would add up to 2070.
I havent gotten my ACT score yet, but definitely over 30.
What BA/MD schools do i actually have a chance in? None? im not completely sure. I know they are VERY competitive. I preferred to waive the MCAT, but with my stats i dont think that possible. Or is it? idk. So please help me! If i need a reality check and am in over my head about any BA/MD programs, tell me! if not, make suggestions!
Also, does anyone know the "easiest" programs to get into? (i know they're not actually easy)

You will definitely need to raise your unweighted GPA to at least a 3.75 and your SATs to about a 2200. Based on your grades alone, it is difficult to say anything about the possibility of getting accepted. What are your leadership/volunteering/activities stats?

im not planning on taking the SAT’s again. Im waiting for my act scores and hopefully they will be better than my sats. And nothing much. I got accepted into the Brandeis Global Youth Summit on the Future of Medicine. But that is over this summer. Im starting to volunteer at hospitals and clinics.
I also wanted to know about backups. I face the facts, there isnt a good chance for me to be accepted. So what are some good colleges that have some good premed programs?

What state are you from? If you’re from Texas it’s definitely possible

Huh Asianandproud? 3.62 can get you into a combined program when 4.5s are getting turned down in Texas?

@texaspg there are some “lesser known” programs through the other ut schools that feed into utmb. I think there’s less competition for them (and the requirements are pretty low…24 mcat and a 3.0 gpa to matriculate to the med school)

Everybody should move to Texas for those requirements… Anyway it will be extremely difficult to get into a program with a 1990, I would highly recommend retaking it one more time in October, I’m glad I did.

Im from Maryland. And yeah, i am seriously considering retaking it in October. But what if my ACT scores come back really high? would schools care if my SAT’s are low but ACT is high? and if i get straight a’s this semester, my CGPA will definitely go up. probably around 3.7-3.8

[UTMB - Office of Special Programs](http://www.utmb.edu/somstudentaffairs/specialprograms/acceptanceprogram.html)

High GPA though.

I was told that I was not chosen for the NJMS programs because of my SAT/ACT discrepancy. Programs don’t like to see that.

seriously? What if you never submitted one of the scores?

I guess I should have only sent them my ACT…

alright. The school in texas you sent me seems to have very low application requirements. But i doubt that the people they accept actually have those stats. I just wanna know, what schools are there on the eastern coast that i actually have a chance at being accepted to? (lets assume i get 30-32 on the ACT)…
Btw, my counselor told me that Virginia Commonwealth might be a good option. Is this true?

I they appear to have a nice program, but they are still pretty competitive.

yeah, theyre all gunna be competitive to a certain amount. But seriously, do i have a chance? just give it to me straight. Any schools you guys know of that id actually have a chance at?

Hey guys, just wondering, do ALL BA/MD programs take the ACT w/ writing? For example, i got a 34 on the ACT (33 english, 36 math, 32 reading, 33 science, and score of 10 on the essay). I also got two 1990’s on the SAT (best scores add up to 2070).
I wanted to know what would be my best option? Sending…ACT only, SAT Only, or Both?

Most prefer the SAT, some don’t take the ACT (ex. Stony Brook). Where are you looking to apply?

do you think giving the better ACT will effect whether i will be accepted or not? and i was thinking about applying to penn state w/ jefferson, Drexel w/ multiple different colleges, GW, Albany, stony brook, missour w/kansas, temple,

D. did not use SAT when she applied, she used ACT, since her ACT score was better. 34 is very competitive. GPA = 3.6 is NOT, weighted is irrelevent. But who will prevent you from applying? Just apply to wide range and see what happens.

if i get straight A’s in 7 classes this semester, how much do you think that would raise my GPA from 3.6? but i know, apparently temple university called and told my mom that with my scores, i have a good chance of being accepted and getting a scholarship? is that true?
