Any banks on campus or near? I need to start an account and get a safety-deposit box as welll.

Attached is a chart comparing the local banks. TCF Bank has a big presence on campus.

There are other banks nearby not on that chart. I noticed Chase and Bank of America in particular when we visited. Both have ATM machines on the street at the entrance to campus. Chase has a couple of nearby branches, one I know on Main and another near the Stadium. I checked because I want to be able to transfer money into my son's account on line, then have him withdraw it and deposit it into a TCF account which is handy to have on campus.

Predator, if you haven't gone for orientation yet, when you do, TCF will have people to set up accounts for you in East Hall

how about National City Bank, is that spread out over campus or not? and how abundant are Bank of America ATMs?

National City has an ATM at State and Packard, one in the Union, a branch at South University and East University, a branch by the mall, a branch downtown, and a branch just off campus on Packard (and maybe some ATMs I don't know about). At least on Central Campus, they have just as many if not more locations than TCF, and they also have far more locations throughout Southeast Michigan. But if you're living on the Hill or North Campus, TCF might be more convenient since they have ATMs in the residence halls.

I just signed up for National City since I have a bunch of branches around my home town.
