Hello,
Which BS schools have students on campus or will definitely have this Spring?
Could we gather statistics in a simple free form, like this maybe?
Repeats are OK

Axxxxxx - all remote
Gxxxxx - all campus
XYZ - grade 12 campus

Choate - on campus now. Full spring on campus planned.

Lville - remote winter term. Extended spring term on campus planned, including interscholastic sports.

Mercersburg - currently remote until March 6; planning for a full in-person spring, including graduation. Fingers crossed. Unsure about interscholastic sports; @cityran have you heard anything about MAPL ?

Which league are you in? We just got a word today that Founders league is canceled for the spring, and while our school hopes to schedule some interscholastic games “if medical conditions allow” I am really not too optimistic as the kids have done nothing but skill building/drills and nothing more planned for winter either. Yet every single state Founders League teams are in has approved high risk high school sports by now, so their public, private and catholic school friends will get their seasons. If they continue with no out of school sports policy for the spring I suspect there will be even more kids going remote for the spring.

Oh no!!! Although we’re ISL, I was dreading this day that one of the prep leagues say no spring. Probably not far behind.
2 years no play will be devastating for my DD!
Yet our LPS also in MA, had fall, winter and fall 2 ( football) registration just came out today. All of that without a hitch.

Hotchkiss was remote after Thanksgiving through January. The kids are off now. They plan to have everyone return to campus at the end of February. In the fall they did a ton of testing, ending with a weekly? pooled testing system. There were a couple of cases with independent contractors but no students or faculty. There were a handful of false positives, but they found out pretty quickly that they were false. I was very happy with the school’s frequent communications.

George is on campus with a mix of online and in person classes (and an all remote option). I know at least some teams are practicing. I don’t have a kid there but have a colleague who does, so I don’t know all the details.

Of all the schools to which my child has applied to BS for next fall, Hotchkiss was the most on the ball during the application season in every way. That school has it together.

This is the information we have received so far. We have a webinar next week in which the AD will give us more details:

“* Our goal is to have interscholastic competition in all of the traditional spring sports. Currently, competition is limited to the state of New Jersey, given restrictions from the governor’s office. We continue to monitor the situation regularly and will keep our community apprised of changes as the spring term nears.”

They have also made it clear that students still may not participate in any sports outside of school.

Despite the fact that my daughter is not an athlete, I’m thrilled to hear there will be games in the Spring. I think it will truly help rebuild the spirit and mood across campus.

That is incredibly frustrating. Sports have been in session in my state this entire school year and there haven’t been any major issues. Some schools/counties opted out for fall and winter sports seasons, but they all seem to be opting back in for spring. Time to get kids back out on the field/track/court/etc.

Cate is remote now, with all students back March 7. After testing and quarantine, then outdoor classes - I think 10 days delay? Then straight through to June, with graduation on campus.

There will be sports, but still waiting to hear about playing other schools. Lacrosse and basketball seem to be “no”, unless the numbers change.

St Mark’s is on campus and has been since January 15. They are practicing sports but no ISL competitions. My understanding is that ISL cancelled winter sport competitions between schools. Fingers crossed crew will be able to compete in the spring.

The day ISL schools are playing, obviously not league games or anything, and I’m jealous!!

I was jealous driving by local HS which had a track meet on Saturday. Even though it was 40 degrees. At this point I just hope they can either have some games in the spring, or at least open campus so they can do the club stuff on weekends. Or both. Which is not at all likely but one can dream. We should hear soon.

Kent is on campus as of 2/1 and will remain through 5/1. No spring break and no Founders League spring sports.
