Which California College to pick??

1) Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
2) Cal Poly Pomona
3) Cal State Chico
4) Cal State Fresno
5) UC Davis

I am currently going to a community college, so I will be considered a transfer student. My current GPA is 3.69, but I'm working to get it higher. I want to major in animal science. I'm not sure what I want to do as a career yet, maybe either training or breeding animals. I'm thinking about being an "applied animal behaviorist". I do not want to be a vet. I am primarily interested in horses and dogs.

Which school do you think is best with ALL factors considered? (academic, nice area, weather- I'm not a big fan of snow or the cold, social life, hands-on experience, animal facilities on campus, and anything else). What would you choose??

Thanks!

Davis or SLO, strongest student bodies, nice college towns.

Davis has a great reputation for animal science.

I second (third?) the call for Davis. Great animal Sciences, especially large animal program.

ya my #1 choice right now is SLO, and then davis. I guess I should visit the campuses to get a “feel for it”

Surely UC Davis. But if you need a backup then I would think (for your stated area of interest) Cal State Fresno. See: [Department of Animal Sciences and Agricultural Education](http://asae.jcast.csufresno.edu/)
