How about the highest percentage considering the entire number of the school considering Santa Monica will naturally produce way more transfers because now it's famous for that so more students may go there to transfer but mostly because of the size of the school (which I believe is around 30,000)

I've spoken with Berkeley admissions people, they have mentioned that it doesn't matter which CC you attend. I would suggest looking at Welcome to ASSIST to see what courses are offered at the CC you are considering, that will transfer to Berkeley.

I don't think the link is right!!
i know 3 of my fds transfer to UCSD last year from Laney College
The website said total transfer to UCSD=4
I am sure there is more ppl going to UCSD from my college!
and why? UCB? so many? unbelieveable

It doesn't really make a difference. I would argue that the differences in transfers only come from the proximity of the schools. I'm going to SMC and most people here WANT to go to UCLA, they don't even consider Berkeley. That's why they came here. at Foothill or DVC, it probably the other way round, most people want to go to Berkeley, that's why their transfer rates are higher.

However, this doesn't mean that your chances to get into Berkeley from SMC are worse than your chances from Foothill/DVC. Like es four already said, for admissions it doesn't make a difference which CC you come from, choose the one you like the most.

I think the link only collects info from those applicants who checked in their application that they'd like their info to be released to counselors and other organizations, so that may account for the disparity, dreamspace

Thomas, I think it doesn't make a difference in the eyes of admissions, but it's a big difference (to me) to be around people who really want to get into UCB or UCLA, as opposed to the local CSU/technical school.

I go to De Anza and there's a huge gap between the # of people who want to go to UCB and the ones who will settle for San Jose State (though it was satisfying to finally find the UCB niche)--96 UCB transfers:848 SJSU transfers.

But still, one shouldn't make their decision of where to go to CCC ONLY based on a number...

It is just weird knowing that out of everybody transferring from my campus only a little over 20 students got accepted to Berkeley. It really makes me nervous about my application.
