Which CC best for transfer?

I'm a senior in HS this year, and I have decent SAT's (2050) and mostly honors/AP classes under my belt. My issue is my unweighted gpa is a 2.7 haha
So as it stands, I can't get into the schools I hope for.
I want to go to:

USD
USC
Pepperdine
UCSB
UCLA

My plan now is to go to a community college in SoCal and transfer out asap.
What CC's would give me the best chances of getting into the aforementioned schools?

in no particular order…
SMC
MTSAC
PCC

those 3 are generally the CC’s to be at. SMC and PCC are probably going to be a bit easier to get classes. PCC will have the least trouble from what i hear. mtsac is tough to get classes since honors students dont get priority registration.

but all 3 have great transfer rates if you dedicate yourself to make sure you have a competitive application. and chance are you will transfer in 1 year since u have AP courses already (they count as credits)

The list Dainese posted is generally what schools people prefer to go to as they have strong transfer rates. Also consider Santa Barbara City College if you plan on having a social life. People really enjoy attending there, but as with every other cc, it can be a significant challenge to get the classes you need.

If your local community college has TAG status with participating UCs and TAP with UCLA then there really is no need to travel anywhere else.

the best CC to transfer is the one you find yourself most comfortable in and enjoy the environment the most. This sounds like BS, but it’s true, seeing as this can have an impact on your GPA. That, of course, ultimately determines whether you get in or not.

if you want to keep an eye out for community colleges, make sure they’re not being affected hard by the budget crisis. Some CCs are doing terrible right now because of it.

once you have those two balanced, if you keep your grades up, you should have no trouble getting into the 4Y of your choice.
