which college, also bringing a horse to ucsc

Im trying to narrow my choices between college 8, cowell, and stevenson. any advice? Im looking for normal(not porter) and somewhat a party scene, nothing crazy, just like...normal college socialization. whats the most social/party college. Also i never hear anything about merril...whats up with merril?
also im considering bringing my horse( anyone have info on boarding facilities, the equestrain team, that kind of thing) and therefore i would need to bring my car, and park it downtown (i guess bc i cant park on campus)
how much of a hassle would that be?
thankss!

Hey I know you!! I'm going tell you off of here though. I'm considering ucsc too! yeah i'll tell you that too..

Well, because Santa Cruz is a resort town, a lot of the parking is pay only, and is very closely monitored. I'm not sure how well parking downtown would work.

no they have a long term parking lot downtown, (atleast thats what it says on the ucsc website for ofcampus parking) its run by the boardwalk i guess, and starting in august students can apply for spots, so you have to pay, but atleast i get to bring my car since freshman cant park on campus

Yea parking at the boardwalk is like $110 a quarter. You can also park at one of the high st churches for a similar amount.

yeah, i heard about that
do you know if you can leave your car there for like weeks at a time though, because it would be nice to be closer to campus than downtown, but im not taking my car somehwere every weekend, its just for going home and occasional weekend trips. I assume they would want the parking on sundays...do you know how that works?

I don't know about the church, but at the boardwalk you can park however long you want....but I'd at least check the car. There's no security (besides a gate) and my friend's window was smashed and his radio stolen. Lesson=don't leave expensive things visible, duh.

Downtown isn't far, really, like a 10 minute bus ride from the base of campus. Everyone goes DT all the time anyway, it's not like it's out of the way at all.
