Which college is best - Planning to do JD/MBA?

Hey! I basically have two choices for college. One is a less well known college in my area called Yeshiva University and the other is NYU Stern Business. YU offered me a full scholarship which saves me over $200,000 but NYU Stern is more respected in the academic community. I want to go to Harvard for Graduate School and do a JD/MBA. Should I go to NYU or YU for college?????????????

Yeshiva is a perfectly respectable university, and you will save $200,000 (if not more) that you can put toward the cost of grad school. In this case your decision should be driven by how you feel about the generally more conservative community at Yeshiva. It might not do for you. However if that is the case, your choice isn’t simply Yeshiva vs. NYU. It is Yeshiva vs. some 4000 other colleges and universities in the US. Or if you must stay in NYC or environs, Yeshiva vs. a couple hundred colleges/universities.

Law School admission is heavily numbers driven - even at the top law schools. Your GPA and your LSAT score will matter much more than the name on your diploma. MBA admission is heavily dependent on your work experience in addition to your undergraduate GPA. Regular admission to the MBA program at HBS normally requires about 5 years of increasingly responsible work experience.

The people at Harvard know about Yeshiva. Don’t worry about this one. If you want to study there, or need to because of the money, it is perfectly fine.
