I’m having a difficult time choosing one of these four colleges for a finance major: Indiana at Bloomington, UIUC, Syracuse, and Bentley. I have no problems with the other aspects such as social life, tuition, etc. I just want to know which would give me the better quality in education and help me land a good job after college.
I would say IU Bloomington- especially with things like the IB workshop.
Where do you live? The best Finance program is the one that gets you in-state tuition and you maximize your opportunity. Some like the consulting aspect of things but the burnout is huge. But if you kick butt, and interview well, it doesn’t matter. It’s called ROI! Assets notwithstanding.
Sorry, but one your jobs as a consultant will be ask the same questions. If you are in Indiana it’s a “no brainer” go to Kelley in Bloomington or Indianapolis. But if not, Maximize what you have.
This question has always amazed me for a kid looking for a Finance degree.
I have an MBA in Marketing. But I would be looking for my Finance guys to hyper-focus on ROI so I can do my thing. Start out strong!
I understand what you are saying but unfortunately my state doesn’t have many good colleges that are in reach.
Whatever you do do not go to Whitman- I am in the program right now and I’ve yet to have a quality professor with field experience and class is essentially having the textbooks read to you. No joke- so don’t go to SU, great school shitty business program.
As long as your family is willing to foot the bill for OOS colleges. You as a freshman are limited to a $5500 loan.
