I recently got into both of my top two schools, University of Delaware and Rutgers New Brunswick. I am having a hard time deciding which one to attend, so I want to know which one is better for the major that I plan on working with, elementary education.

Which state do you want to work in?

Which of these two do the teachers you know recommend?

Teacher hiring is often very local. You want to go to the university that will get you hired for your first job in the district that you want to start in.

What do these two places cost?

Beginning teachers don’t make lots of money, and they are expected to continue their educations. Choosing a good university that will leave you with very little or no debt is probably the the best way to go.

I probably want to work in New Jersey…Since I am in-state for Rutgers, that is about 25,000 and Udel is about 38-40

Rutgers NB hands down: if you want to work in NJ it makes the most sense, and UDel is ABSOLUTELY NOT worth 38-40k/y.
