I just found out that Stanford is not need-blind for international applicants, well, this is not fair.

I don’t know specific policies of many schools, but when I was college touring, I found Amherst College offers some of the best need-blind welcoming in terms of financial aid

Look for the schools that have more international students like UCLA.

What’s not fair about it?

There are only 6 that are need blind and meet full need for Int’ls.

Stanford is not need-blind for admits, but does meet full need IFF admitted. In contrast, Cornell is need-blind for international admissions, but may not meet full need when admitted.

Actually, it maybe. (And the reason is that there is literally no way for a US college to verify an international’s finances. And thus, a case could be made that international apps should be handled differentially to those of US citizens.)

There are 3,800 colleges in the US. We can’t list them all.
In addition, when I read “friendliness”, I thought you meant “openness and tolerance toward other cultures and ethnic groups” but based on your comment about financial aid, do you mean colleges that are the most generous?
Your best bet if you have high stats is to look for merit scholarships.
So many high stats applicants apply to the 6 need-blind colleges that if you’ve seen the Hunger Games during the first minute? Well, that’s a good simile except it’s applications and no one dies :P

@ssgupta. If Stanford wanted to go “need-blind” for internationals today…they could…and, they could easily afford to…but, they don’t want to YET…

…it hasn’t seem to have deterred any of the top qualified internationals from applying…regardless of their financial status…since, if Stanford WANTS you…they will admit YOU…and will provide FULL financial aid to attend…that is, if you GET IN…

…having said this…I have heard through the grapevine that Stanford administration is seriously considering going “need-blind” for internationals in the near future…

…if that were to happen…can you imagine how many MORE people would apply to Stanford…and how ridiculously difficult for internationals to get in? It’s almost impossible as it is…
