Which College should a want to be chef apply to?

I am looking for a traditional 4 year school that has made a name for itself that has good culinary preparation services because it is my dream to own and be head chef in my own restraunt.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Johnson and Wales. I would also look at Cornell hotel school. Not a place to learn to cook, but one to learn how to run a successful restaurant which is probably more important.

Culinary Institute of America in Poughkeepsie New York is the best that I know of. You earn a degree, live on campus, and learn to cook and manage a restaurant. Good luck. Its a challenging career but can be very rewarding for the uber talented.

[Paul Smith’s College - Division of Hospitality, Resort & Culinary Management](http://www.paulsmiths.edu/hrcm/)

[Paul Smith’s College - The College of the Adirondacks](http://www.paulsmiths.edu/)

Paul Smith’s in the Adirondacks has both two year & 4 year programs in their Hospitality School. Nice location too!
